Bryce Dallas Howard’s Sundance Short Film
Written by: FFT Webmaster | February 6th, 2012
This has been a banner year for actress Bryce Dallas Howard. Not only did she win acclaim for her portrayal of a Southern snob in the Oscar-bound THE HELP, but she has directed her first short film, which made its international bow at last week’s Sundance Film Festival. WHEN YOU FIND ME is directed Ms. Howard and produced by her father, Oscar winning director Ron Howard. The film is inspired by Project Imagin8ion, sponsored by Canon, which is the first photo contest to inspire a film. Canon invited people to interpret 8 key storytelling elements with their photographs and send them in to the dedicated website for the contest. After receiving nearly 100,000 submissions, the winning photos were chosen by Ron Howard, setting the stage for the short film directed by his daughter. Canon sponsored a lounge and booth at the Sundance Festival Co-op during the Festival, where budding filmmakers could learn more about Canon cameras and products. The short film, based on its pedigree, should show up on the film festival circuit, so look for it. To get more information on Project Imagin8ion, visit: www.youtube.com/user/Imagination/custom
