Gen Art Film Festival Is Back

Written by: FFT Webmaster | June 7th, 2011

It’s been a rough year for Gen Art, the multi-disciplinary arts organization that has hosted premieres from the worlds of film, fashion and music. Over a year ago following its traditional April dates in New York for the Gen Art Film Festival, news came from the parent organization that they were closing their doors. The news took the indie community by surprise since Gen Art seemed to be one of the most reliable indie brands and one of the most far-reaching. Well, what a difference a year makes…..the Gen Art Film Festival is now officially back with its winning formula of 7 Features and Shorts and 7 Parties. The Festival runs from June 8 to 14 in New York and will include the following films (in order of presentation): the Festival opener A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO ENDING (starring Scott Caan, J.K. Simmons, and Harvey Keitel); YELLING TO THE SKY (starring Zoe Kravitz, Jason Tim Blake Nelson and Gabourey Sidibe); NORMAN (starring Richard Jenkins, Billy Lush and Adam Goldberg); GOOLD’S GOLD (a documentary by Jonathan Goold); THE PILL (starring Noah Bean, Rachel Boston and Anna Chlumsky); AMERICAN ANIMAL (Matt D’Elia, Brendan Fletcher, Mircea Monroe and Angela Sarafyan) and the Festival closer SALVATION BOULEVARD (starring Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, and Marisa Tomei).
