The rumors of Madonna being caught in bed with Harvey Weinstein are not exactly true, but they are not exactly false either. News comes from the material girl’s camp that her sophomore directorial effort has been picked up by The Weinstein Company. W.E., a modernist take on the “scandal of the century”—-the affair between King Edward VIII and the American commoner Wallis Simpson—-will star Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac, Richard Coyle, James D’Arcy and Andrea Riseborough. In addition to directing, she co-wrote the screenplay to with Alek Keshishian (who directed her revealing documentary TRUTH OR DARE) and is co-composing the score with Polish musician Abel Korzeniowski. The film looks destined to be one of the hot events at this year’s Venice Film Festival later this summer. The only question left is: what will she wear to her own premiere?
