Metropolitan Opera’s Summer Encore Series

For opera lovers, New York’s Metropolitan Opera is Mecca and Disneyland all rolled up into one. However, for those aria aficionados who cannot make it to the Big Apple this summer, the Met is bringing the collatura to their community. All summer the Met will present its Summer HD Encores, a series of screenings from the groundbreaking Live in HD series, in more than 425 movie theaters across the United States. The series has already reprised such classics as Puccini’s MADAMA BUTTERFLY (June 15), Donizetti’s DON PASQUALE (June 22) and Verdi’s SIMON BOCCANEGRA (June 29). Coming this month are Donizetti’s LA FILLE DU REGIMENT on July 13, Puccini’s TOSCA on July 20 and Verdi’s DON CARLO on July 27. To get more information and find a theater near you, visit:
