The Next James Bond Film

Sam Mendes, the Oscar winning director of AMERICAN BEAUTY, has unveiled plans for the 23rd installment of the James Bond franchise. The new film is to be titled SKYFALL, with the current 007, British actor Daniel Craig, returning to the iconic role for the third time. Shooting has already begun with a planned worldwide theatrical release in November 2012. Also returning is Judi Dench as spymaster M, with Javier Bardem signing on as the film’s bad guy. Also includes in the cast are British actors Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw, with acting legend Albert Finney also reported to be in the film in a cameo role. The film will take Bond to London, Shanghai, Istanbul and Scotland. The 2012 release marks the 50th anniversary of the first Bond film, DR. NO in 1962, starring Sean Connery.
