Written by: FFT Webmaster | May 5th, 2011

MOONRISE KINGDOM, the latest film from director Wes Anderson, has been acquired for worldwide rights by Focus Features. The film, which stars Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman, has a script co-written by Anderson and Roman Coppola. The story is set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s, where a young boy and girl from opposite sides of the tracks fall in love and run away together while the town elders go on a desperate search to find and separate them. The film is being produced by Indian Paintbrush, the company that executive produced two previous Anderson films, FANTASTIC MR. FOX and THE DARJEELING LIMITED.
