Meet The Silverdocs Juries

The AFI-Discovery Channel Silverdocs Documentary Festival, one of the world’s great gatherings of the documentary tribe, is in full swing in Silver Spring, Maryland. The Festival’s main competition sections will yield Sterling Awards for Best U.S. Feature, Best World Feature and Best Short Film, recognizing filmmaker achievement with both cash and in-kind prizes. A diverse group of film professionals will determine the prizes on the official juries. Results will be announced on Sunday. In the meantime, here are the most hardworking people at Silverdocs this week:
U.S. Feature Jury: Heather Courtney, Filmmaker (WHERE SOLDIERS COME FROM); Marshall Curry, Filmmaker (IF A TREE FALLS: A STORY OF THE EARTH LIBERATION FRONT); Adella Ladjevardi, Grants Manager, Cinereach
World Feature Jury: Charlotte Cook, Director of Programming, Hot Docs Canadian International Film Festival; Jigar Mehta, Co-founder, Collaborative Documentary Project; Stephanie Wang-Breal, Filmmaker (WO AI NI MOMMY [I LOVE YOU, MOMMY]).
Short Film Jury: Lisa Collins, Filmmaker (OSCAR’S COMEBACK); Cara Cusumano, Programmer, Tribeca Film Festival; Basil Tsiokos, Programming Associate, Sundance Film Festival.
