Anchor Bay Films has picked up North American right to two Midnighter films at SXSW this week: THE AGGRESSION SCALE and GIRLS AGAINST BOYS. The Midnighter section is reserved for genre films with an edge. Directed by Steven C. Miller and written by Ben Powell, THE AGGRESSION SCALE stars Ray Wise, Dana Ashbrook and Derek Mears and is the story of four hitmen and two teenagers who go to war over $500,000 in stolen cash. GIRLS AGAINST BOYS, directed by Austin Chick, is a female revenge-killing thriller that opened the SXSW Midnighter’s section. With the Festival coming into its final weekend, more distributor pickups are expected to be announced.
