Canadian Chanteuse Honored In Montreal

The Montreal World Film Festival, which begins later this week, will pay tribute to singer/actress Ginette Reno at its upcoming 35th edition. She is well known as a singer, who began her career winning numerous song contests. She also became, at the tender age of sixteen in 1964, a television star with her variety show. She has had many top ten hits in Quebec for her French language ballads and torch songs. As she aged, she also became a strong actress on both the small and big screen. She made her film debut in Jean-Claude Lauzon’s LEOLO in 1991 and throughout the 1990s, she continued with her new-found acting career, including roles in the films C’EST A TON TOUR LAURA CADIEUX (1997), MAMBO ITALIANO (2003) and LE SECRET DE MA MERE (2006).  For more information on the Montreal World Film Festival, visit: www.ffm-montreal.org
