This is but one of the industry oriented initiatives which will be held at this year’s event. A number of professional seminars, which range from new sources of financing to elements of casting and production design, will be offered. In addition, the Festival is hosting the Power to the Pixel conference focusing on new media impacts on the film industry and the Film London Production Finance Market, which gives British producers key networking opportunities with visiting distributors and financiers. The Festival also is working closely with the British Council Film Department to bring in more key overseas festivals programmers to meet new and established British filmmakers and view the latest U.K. films at BFI London Film Festival’s Industry Screenings. The Industry Office has partnered with a number of key organizations to up the business aspect of the event, including Skillset (Sector Skills Council for Creative Media), Women in Film and Television, the National Film and Television School, London Film School, Film London and Advanced Films, all with the financial backing of the Mayor of London.
