U.S. distributor Panorama Entertainment has acquired American rights to the Argentine film CHINESE TAKE AWAY by Sebastián Borensztein, which made its US premiere in March at the Miami International Film Festival. CHINESE TAKE AWAY was the highest grossing local film of Argentina and broke box office records for a Latin American production in many territories including Spain and Brazil. It won Best Film, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in Argentina. It also won International Rome Film Festival’s Marc’ Aurelio Jury Award for Best Film and BNL Audience Award for Best Film. It also won Best Latin American Film at the 2012 Goya Awards. In the film, Argentine superstar Ricardo Darín plays Roberto, a gruff, anti-social loner who lords over his tiny hardware shop in Buenos Aires until he encounters a Chinese stowaway who has arrived with information about a long-lost uncle. The distributor will release the film in all platforms later this year.
