Ruben Fleischer, the writer/director who scored a major hit two years ago with ZOMBIELAND starring a pre-SOCIAL NETWORK Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, is corralling a major big name cast for his sophomore effort entitled THE GANGSTER SQUAD. The 1940s-set crime drama, which will begin production this summer, is currently in negotiations with Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling to play two Los Angeles cops who bring down legendary Hollywood era mobster Mickey Cohen. Fleishcer is also tempting another big fish to play the ruthless and possibly psychotic Cohen…. Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn. Quite a cast!
