Sony And Goldwyn Nab Robot Pic

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and Samuel Goldwyn Films are partnering on the North American release of ROBOT & FRANK, which opened the Sundance Film Festival with its Salt Lake City Gala. The film, a directorial debut by Jake Schreier, stars Oscar nominee Frank Langella as a retired jewel thief gets a new lease on life when he is introduced to a surprising new companion, a fully functioning robot. With the help of his new friend, he attempts to woo a local librarian (Susan Sarandon) and resume his criminal escapades. The film, which was well received by audiences and critics, also stars James Marsden, Liv Tyler, Peter Saarsgard, Jeremy Sisto and Jeremy Strong.  Additionally, SPWA has acquired all media rights for Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe including Russia. The film is the first production for new shingle Park Pictures Features.
