Shooting Stars, the promotion initiative by pan-European promotion body European Film Promotion, focuses on a new generation of European actors who are on the cusp of international recognition. The 15th edition of the initiative is in full gear at the Berlin International Film Festival, where a select group of ten of Europe’s most talented young actors are meeting with press, casting agents and other media professionals in a whirlwind series of activities. The highlight of was a glamorous award ceremony held at the Berlinale Palast on Monday night. Each was presented with the Shooting Stars Award. This year’s roster of actors and actresses include Riz Ahmed (UK), Ana Ularu (Romania), Hilmar Gudjónsson (Iceland), Max Hubacher (Switzerland), Adèle Haenel (France), Bill Skarsgård (Sweden), Jakub Gierszał (Poland), Antonia Campbell-Hughes (Ireland), Anna Maria Mühe (Germany) and Isabella Ragonese (Italy).
