Tribeca Film Weds Edwards Burns

Tribeca Film has tied the knot for US and Canadian distribution rights with Edward Burns, the actor/writer/director of NEWLYWEDS, his latest comedic relationship drama that had its world premiere as the Closing Night selection at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival. NEWLYWEDS is the tenth film written and directed by the New York-centric filmmaker. He shot the film in a fast paced 12 day shoot exclusively in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood. The film is a chronicle of modern marriage complete with the crackling humor and sharp insights into contemporary relationships that has distinguished Burns’ work since his celebrated debut THE BROTHERS McMULLEN in 1995. The stellar cast includes Burns, Caitlin FitzGerald (It’s Complicated), Max Baker, Marsha Dietlein Bennett and Kerry Bishé (Nice Guy Johnny, Scrubs). Burns produced with producing partner Aaron Lubin and William Rexer. A release in late 2011 is planned across multiple platforms. For more information, visit: www.tribecafilm.com
