Oscar winning director Warren Beatty (REDS) will be making his first film in almost 10 years with the as-yet-unnamed biopic about the reclusive billionaire Howard Hughes. The film, which was recently dropped by Paramount Pictures and moves to New Regency, has Beatt, starring in, producing and directing the film. New Regency is partly owned by and has a distribution deal with Twentieth Century Fox. The film will be on an epic scale to match its subject, with actors Alec Baldwin and Jack Nicholson in talks for significant supporting roles in the film. Hughes has been on screen in two previous films: MELVIN AND HOWARD (1984) by Jonathan Demme and THE AVIATOR (2006) by Martin Scorsese.
