George Clooney Announces Next Project

Written by: FFT Webmaster | January 11th, 2012

George Clooney, the current frontrunner for the Best Actor Oscar for his role in the family dramedy THE DESCENDANTS and whose latest directorial effort THE IDES OF MARCH is up for major awards at next week’s Golden Globes ceremonies, has announced his newest directorial project. Clooney will write, direct and star in a big-budget film about the men who chased down the stolen art of Europe during World War II. THE MONUMENTS MEN, which Clooney is co-writing with his producing partner Grant Heslov, will tell the story of a hand-picked group of art experts chosen by the U.S. government to retrieve artwork stolen by the Nazis. No other actors have been announced for the project, but don’t be surprised if Clooney cronies Brad Pitt and Matt Damon have a choice role or two in the film.
