The Dude Lands A Record Deal

Written by: FFT Webmaster | April 25th, 2011

Jeff Bridges, an Oscar winner as a faded country/western singer in last year’s CRAZY HEART but forever enshrined as The Dude in the Coen Brothers’ THE BIG LEBOWSKI, is recording a solo album for the Blue Note Records division of EMI. The album, as yet unnamed, will be recorded by with the producer T. Bone Burnett, who first met Mr. Bridges on the set of the infamous HEAVEN’S GATE, and who selected music for THE BIG LEBOWSKI soundtrack, as well as co-writing songs for CRAZY HEART. For the recording project, Bridges will contribute several of his own compositions as well as perform tunes by Stephen Bruton, John Goodwin, Greg Brown, Bo Ramsey and Tom Waits. The album is planned for a late summer release.
