Friar’s Club Comedy Film Festival

Wow! What a way to start off the inaugural year for the Friar’s Club Comedy Film Festival. First, was the 8pm “red carpet premiere” for the new Coen’s Brothers film “A Serious Man” at the Ziegfeld Theatre on West 54th St. It’s both funny and existential in tone and one of the most masterful films of their impressive oeuvre. If you’re Jewish, you’ll intimately relate to the humor, with the second half of the film particularly hysterical.
After the screening, people networked for awhile in the Theatre before moving on to the Friar’s Club on East 55th St for the after Premiere party. And, boy, what a party it was! Anyone who was anybody was there including the filmmakers, cast, other celebrities, the press, and the many filmmakers whose films are in the first Friars Club Comedy Film Festival in New York City running from Thursday September 24 – 27. Hope to see you at the festival!
