Gear Alley Brings in the Pros for In-Depth Discussions on the Latest Equipment
October 15, 2009 (Burbank, CA) – Gear Alley will debut at HD EXPO – Createasphere on November 4th where the latest production gear including cameras, cranes, dollies, rigs, and lighting will be presented and demo’ed for attendees.
“Hard Core, Revolutionary or Indispensable – Must Have and Must See Gear,” a panel of leading camera operators, gaffers, and rental experts has been set for November 4th to compliment the Gear Alley theme. “The Hard Core,” panel of experts brings extensive experience and insight about the tools that are or should be emerging for production. Joining the panel are Larry Mole Parker, Mole Richardson Executive VP and SOC President’s Award winner; Mark August, SOC Board member and member of the United States Naval Reservist, as a Combat Photographer; Corporate SOC Liaison Dave Frederick, whose feature credits include: “The Soloist,” “Blood Simple,” Driving Miss Daisy, and the FX hit “Sons of Anarchy;” Dan Kneece, SOC member and Camera Operator since 1979, has taught top operators working today how to use the Steadicam; and David Mahlman, SOC, whose credits include features, commercials, industrials and documentaries. The panel will be moderated by Jessica Sitomer, CEO of The Greenlight Coach.
Kristin Petrovich, President of HD EXPO – Createasphere noted, “Content creation comes to life during production; and we wanted to present the most interesting production tools and the experts who can really talk about them. So many of our attendees are the on-set crews who actually make the content happen. Gear Alley came about after many exhibitors and attendees asked us to put muscle behind a production-centered area and bring out experts to talk about how they’ve used the tools. We’re looking forward to this unveiling; we consider it critically important that the needs of production team members are addressed.”
Gear Alley and the panel are open to all registered attendees at HD EXPO – Createasphere. For more information and registration, please visit www.createasphere.com or call 818.842.6611.
