Gen Art

Dear Friends, Filmmakers, Film-lovers and others I’ve met in my adventures . . .

Over the years Gen Art has had the honor and privilege of introducing some of the most exciting filmmakers to our eager audience, including Adrienne Shelly, Brad Anderson, Cary Fukunaga, Rian Johnson, Four Eyed Monsters, Michael Skolnik, Richard Shepherd, Alex Holdridge, Azazel Jacobs and countless others.  For us there is nothing more important than giving these unique voices  (as well as those in fashion, art and music) a powerful platform to showcase their work, but that platform is currently in danger…

Please join me and our host committee Adrian Grenier, Zac Posen, Nick Cannon, Georgina Chapman, Adrien Brody, William H. Macy, Rebecca Taylor, Alan Cumming & John Leguizamo next week when I fly into town for one night only to attend this very special event.

I ♥ Gen Art Benefit on Wednesday June 24th, 7-11pm at 7 West 34th Street.

In these difficult economic times, with decreased support from corporate America, Gen Art is looking to its loyal allies of the past 15 years (as well as our newest supporters) to help celebrate our successes while looking forward towards ensuring another great 15 years of programming.

You CAN make a difference to be sure that Gen Art survives the current recession and lives to continue its culturally and socially relevant mission to support emerging talent at what will surely be the most talked about event of the summer. Don’t miss this red carpet event with over 70 works of art available for purchase starting at $150, as well as amazing fashion items.

Whatever you can do, it will have a direct impact on the next generation of emerging artists!

Another way to support Gen Art . . . . tell your Windy City friends about our Gen Art Chicago Film Festival presented by Acura.

The Chicago four-day festival, taking place June 23th-27th, will include one short and one feature film each night, followed by an exclusive after-party with complimentary cocktails, complete with celebrities and red carpet experiences. For only $20 (or less) – a pretty wicked deal for a fun summer activity.

This year’s slate includes feature films 500 Days of Summer, Mercy, Patriotville and Shrink – showcasing outstanding performances by actors Kevin Spacey, Zooey Deschanel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Robin Williams, Justin Long, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Scott Caan.
