The Busan Film Festival in South Korea has unveiled 30 projects that it has selected for its Asian Project Market (APM). Formerly known as the Pusan Promotion Plan, the APM presents a group of diverse films from Asian producers that are looking for financing or completion funds. Among the projects on tap are 27-LOAF ROCKS by veteran Taiwanese producer Lin Cheng-seng, EAST WIND, RAIN by Japanese producer Masato Harada, and DISTORTION from Thai producer Nonzee Nimibutr. The APM also includes a number of projects from up-and-coming Korean directors, including Park Jung-bum, who won the Rotterdam Film Festival’s Tiger Award with his debut feature THE JOURNALS OF MUSAN. He will present his newest project ALIVE, which is also one of the productions to have received funding this year from the Asian Cinema Fund. The APM will be held from October 10 to 13, parallel to the Busan (formerly Pusan) Film Festival, which runs from October 6 to 14 in South Korea’s second largest city and largest port town.
