Aaron Sorkin To Write Biopic of Steve Jobs

Written by: FFT Webmaster | November 30th, 2011

Oscar winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (THE SOCIAL NETWORK) has committed to writing a biopic about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died last month after a bout with cancer. Sony Pictures, the same studio that produced and released THE SOCIAL NETWORK, has optioned the current New York Times bestseller biography of Jobs by journalist Walter Isaacson for a reported $1 million. “I’m just in the thinking-about-it-stage”, Mr. Sorkin revealed. “However, this could be a great movie that not only tells a compelling human story but also allows us to understand the times we live in from the perspective of a man who changed all the rules.” No director has yet been attached to the project and there have been no announcements of what actor would play the tech guru. The film, if handled right, could become a phenomenon like THE SOCIAL NETWORK, so Sorkin should leave room on his mantle for another Oscar trophy
