Written by: FFT Webmaster | September 26th, 2011

The 1941 film classic CITIZEN KANE, a film that has inspired generations of filmmakers and which has consistently ranked in the top spot on the American Film Institute’s 100 Years…100 Movies as the greatest movie of all time – is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Orson Welles was only 25 when he wrote, directed, produced and starred in this American classic. To mark the anniversary, AFI is releasing clips from the AFI Archive about the movie and its master filmmaker throughout September on www.AFI.com  and Warner Bros. is releasing the film with bonus content for the first time ever for download on iTunes. In an online contest run by the AFI that is giving away iTunes download codes good towards the free download of the film, a lucky 15 winners have been chosen to receive this special edition of one of the most important films ever made.
