CBS Films Buys Sundance Closer

Written by: FFT Webmaster | January 23rd, 2012

CBS Films, a division of the television network, has acquired U.S. rights to Sundance Film Festival’s closing-night film THE WORDS, starring Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana and Jeremy Irons. Cooper stars as a writer who, at the peak of his literary success, discovers the price he must pay for stealing another man’s work. A press screening for the film was postponed on Saturday while the final negotiations were concluded. The film is the debut of writers/directors  Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal who developed the script at the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab. The script was also listed last year on the annual Black List of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays. THE WORDS will have its world premiere on January 27. CBS Films plans a fall release.
