For the first time ever, a story from award-winning comic essayist David Sedaris is being adapted as a film. The story C.O.G. from his best-seller 1997 collection of essays NAKED will begin production in October from writer-director Kyle Patrick Alvarez (Indie Spirit Award winner for EASIER THAN PRACTICE). The film is based on Sedaris’ experiences when in his late 20s he went to go work as an apple picker in the orchards of Oregon. His encounters with the religious right and the narrow-minded locals offers comic fodder for an observation on the on-going culture wars in America.
