Edgerton In, Affleck Out Of The Great Gatsby

Written by: FFT Webmaster | May 19th, 2011

Aussie actor Joel Edgerton will play Tom Buchanan in the adaptation of the 1920s novel THE GREAT GATSBY, to be directed by fellow Aussie Baz Lurhmann (MOULIN ROUGE). Ben Affleck had been in talks for the role of Buchanan, but scheduling conflicts made chances slim from the start. Edgerton will join British actresses Carey Mulligan and Isla Fisher in the Warner Brothers adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great American novel. A couple of big name Americans are in the movie, too: Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire star as Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway.
