Emerging Visions, a creative symposium jointly curated by the IFP, the U.S. producers organization, and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, one of the country’s leading film institutions, will take place on Monday, October 3 during the 2011 New York Film Festival. The program will present professional seminars and networking events for 25 debut directors selected from the Film Society’s emerging talent pool and from the IFP Independent Filmmaker Labs, No Borders International Co-Production Market, Emerging Narrative and Spotlight on Documentaries programs. The goal of the day-long event is introduce the selected filmmakers to a solid peer network, advance their careers with introductions to key industry players and directly support their creative work through workshops, case studies and pitch sessions. In addition, each participating filmmaker will be assigned a private mentor who will offer advice, guidance and connections to help advance their current projects and careers. The initiative is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada. For more information, visit: www.ifp.org
