Erotic 3D Film Coming To North America

3D SEX AND ZEN: EXTREME ECSTASY may be the first mainstream 3D erotic drama to hit North American screens later this year. The film, directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Christopher Sun and starring Chinese superstars Saori Hara and Hiro Haayana, is a remake of a 1991 film called SEX AND ZEN, which was adapted from a 17^th century work of Chinese erotic fiction. When the film opened last month in Hong Kong, it broke one-day attendance records, even besting AVATAR’s numbers. The film is now coming stateside via China Lion Film Distribution, a Chinese/New Zealand company. Explaining why he decided to make the film in 3D, director Sun said that “if audiences are going to pay additional ticket costs for 3D movies, they should get into a world they’ve never seen before.” I see eyes popping already.
