Francophones United For Bastille Day Screening
Written by: FFT Webmaster | July 11th, 2011
With our own Independence Day now past, it is time to don our berets, clutch our baguettes and open a bottle of imported red for a cinematic Bastille Day celebration on July 14th. Cinephiles will not be storming the Bastille but will congregate on the rooftop terrace of the Roger Smith Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The program is the last of the summer for Cinemonde, an innovative movie plus dinner concept by Jerome Rudes, the former head of the Avignon Film Festival and widely recognized as New York’s number one Francophile. Festivities kick off with an authentic Provençale picnic prepared by Master Chef Pierre Paumel, who is coming over from France for the occasion. Revelers will then be treated to a sneak preview of the tingling indie thriller THE WHISPERER IN DARKNESS, an adaptation of horror writer H.P. Lovecraft’s creepy classic.
