French screen star Vincent Perez will be one of the high profile guests this week as the Montreal World Film Festival continues its 12 day feast of French and international cinema. Perez will be in town to promote his new film A BUTTERFLY KISS, the directorial debut of Karine Silla Perez, who is also his wife. The film also stars celebrated screen actresses Valeria Golino, Elsa Zylberstein and Cécile de France. In the film, Perez plays a devoted husband whose harmonious family life is forever disrupted, while his female friends also learn important life lessons. Perez has been a romantic idol on the screen for the past 25 years, having shared the screen with such iconic screen actors as Jacqueline Bisset (LA MAISON DE JADE, 1988), Gérard Depardieu (CYRANO, 1990), Catherine Deneuve (INDOCHINE, 1992), Isabelle Adjani (LA REINE MARGOT, 1994), Rachel Weisz (SWEPT FROM THE SEA, 1997) Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi (THOSE WHO LOVE ME CAN TAKE THE TRAIN, 1998), Emmanuelle Beart (MARCEL PROUST’S TIME REGAINED, 1999) and Fanny Ardant (THE LIBERTINE, 2000). He also has directed two films, including ONCE UPON AN ANGEL (2001) and THE SECRET (2004). Last year, he starred opposite Diane Kruger and Rosanna Arquette in the thriller INHALE, the English language debut of celebrated Icelandic director Baltasar Kormakur. This year, he is back on French screens with A BUTTERFLY KISS and the family comedy MONSIEUR PAPA, directed by Kad Merad.
