Written by: FFT Webmaster | July 22nd, 2011

In what has to be one of the biggest cash prizes awarded to an indie filmmaker,

Openfilm.com, an online destination serving the independent film market, will be writing a check for $500,000 to rising Canadian filmmaker Patrick Boivin. The lucky director was the winner of the company’s second Get It Madecompetition. The $500,000 award will help him produce a feature film version of his short LE QUELOUNE (The Clown), a cutting-edge zombie movie. The film was chosen from more than 100 short films that were posted online on Openfilm.com for members of the film community to view and vote for their favorite.  Openfilm.com is owned and operated by technology Internet publisher Net Element, a video technology and content delivery platform dedicated to indie filmmaking.
