The Los Angeles Film Festival will host the world premiere of American indie auteur Richard Linklater’s BERNIE on June 16. The film, written by Skip Hollandsworth and Linklater, stars Jack Black as a quirky mortician in a small Texas town. Texas native Matthew McConaughey and screen legend Shirley MacLaine are also in the cast. The film is not currently aligned with a U.S. distributor and will be sold at the event by Graham Taylor of the William Morris Agency and Cinetic Media honcho John Sloss. London-based Hyde Park International is handling international sales. The Festival will screen over 200 feature films, shorts and music videos from more than 30 countries.
