Multiple Deals At Hot Docs

Hot Docs, North America’s largest documentary festival, conference and market, is currently underway in Toronto and multiple deals have been made at the confab. Canadian distributor Films We Like has acquired Canadian rights to THE BALLAD OF GENESIS AND LADY JAYE, which recently premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as the Canadian rights to CONAN O’BRIEN CAN’T STOP, a profile of the late-night talk show host’s strand-up road tour following his departure from The Tonight Show. Cable network Showtime has acquired US exhibition rights for FIGHTVILLE, a film by Michael Tucker and Petra Epperlein that focuses on the hopefuls for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. US-based New Video has bought the North American rights to HELL AND BACK AGAIN, a UK/US co-production by Danfung Dennis which tells the powerful stories of returning soldiers from the conflict in Afghanistan.  PBS International has won worldwide television rights to THE HOLLYWOOD COMPLEX, a portrait of hopeful child actors in Hollywood co-directed by Dan Sturman and Dylan Nelson. Hot Docs continues through Sunday.
