Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Pic

Written by: FFT Webmaster | March 19th, 2012

It is rather hard to believe, but the Rolling Stones have been rocking for 50 years and this year they are celebrating their rock legacy on film. Amidst rumors that the rockers (average age 65) were take to arenas for a live music tour have come to naught. However, the Stones and their fans can celebrate with a new documentary film that will make note of the anniversary. So far, the project is still untitled (NO SATISFACTION, anyone?) but we do know that Brett Morgan, who directed the documentary THE KID STAYS IN THE PICTURE, a biopic of uber 1970s producer Robert Evans, will helm the film. The film will mine the archives of the Stones appearances on television, music videos and scenes from their various tours. Press notes say the film will be ready by September, so expect it to make its world premiere at either the Venice or Toronto Film Festivals, with a healthy dose of other festivals getting into the groove.
