Sissy Spacek Makes Her Directorial Debut

Written by: FFT Webmaster | May 27th, 2011

Sissy Spacek, an indie stalwart and an Oscar winner for her role as country singer Loretta Lynn in COAL MINER’S DAUGHTER, will make her directorial with the Southern drama SWEET TEA. The film drama centers around families living in Alabama during the Great Depression. Jennifer Lawrence, an Oscar nominee for her performance in last year’s indie “it” film WINTER’S BONE, toplines as a teenage mother who gets married young and meets another man and starts thinking that maybe she made a mistake. SWEET TEA goes into production this summer with a release in early 2012 (and most probably a slot at next year’s Sundance Film Festival).
