Soderbergh’s Strippers To Close LA Film Festival

Written by: FFT Webmaster | June 15th, 2012

Steven Sodebergh’s male-stripper tale MAGIC MIKE, starring real-life former stripper Channing Tatum, will close the Los Angeles Film Festival (June 14-24). The film, loosely based on Tatum’s brief career as a male exotic dancer, also stars Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello (hunks all). The Festival opened last night with the U.S. Premiere of TO ROME WITH LOVE, director Woody Allen’s latest European frolic, with an all-star cast that includes Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin. More than a dozen films will be making their premiere at the event, including the highly anticipated dramedy PEOPLE LIKE US, starring Chris Pine and Michelle Pfeiffer; the Steve Carrell-starrer SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, the Sundance Best Director winner MIDDLE OF NOWHERE and the Sundance sensation BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD.
