Summit Entertainment has been one of the most active sales companies at this week’s American Film Market in Santa Monica, the largest confab of indie sellers and buyers on the planet. The company and Central Partnership have entered into a new exclusive six-year output agreement for all rights in the Commonwealth of Independent States region to Summit’s slate of theatrical films. The CIS consists of former Soviet Republics such as Russia, Ukraine, Armenia and Belarus. This deal encompasses all upcoming films produced by Summit through December 2017. It kicks off with the studio’s Jesse Eisenberg comedy NOW YOU SEE ME, which premieres in January 2013. Summit Entertainment is one of the most successful companies in the field, fresh on the heels of its TWILIGHT series that has been one of the big international earners of recent years. The company has been busy carving up the worldwide rights to its current and future films, as well as its extensive film library. Summit has also entered into a three-year output agreement with Aurum Producciones for all rights in Spain to the studio’s film slate.
