Ten European Directors To Watch At Karlovy Vary

Ten up and coming European directors have been selected by the film critics at the trade paper Variety for a special sidebar at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which will be held in the Czech Republic spa resort from July 1 to 9. The initiative, coordinated by the pan-European organization European Film Promotion, will host screenings and special events for the following participating directors: Alexandru Maftei (HELLO! HOW ARE YOU?, Romania); Lisa Aschan (SHE MONKEYS, Sweden); Claudio Cupellini (A QUIET LIFE, Italy); David Dusa (FLOWERS OF EVIL, France); Jannicke Systad Jacobsen (TURN ME ON, GODDAMMIT, Norway); Yasemin Samdereli (ALMANYA, Germany); Zuzana Liová (THE HOUSE), Slovak Republic; Valdís Aeskarsdóttir (KING’S ROAD, Iceland); Hans Van Nuffel (OXYGEN, Belgium); and Ben Wheatley (KILL LIST, UK).
