A new app for iPhones, iPod Touch, iPads and Androids is devoted to the varied career of pop artist and media entrepreneur Andy Warhol. For a price as low as $2.99, the app offers art lovers in-depth archival materials, including rarely seen film and video out takes of Warhol at work, Warhol and his entourage partying at the celebrated Factory and clips from the dozens of short films and features that he directed, produced or otherwise inspired. The app was organized by the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh in collaboration with Toura, a mobile app platform provider. The Warhol films and video clips are generally in museum collections but this app allows art lovers and those curious about Warhol’s oeuvre to access rare footage on the artist and his art.
