Written by: FFT Webmaster | June 8th, 2011

This year’s Taormina Film Festival, running from June 11 to 18 on the island of Sicily, will host several luminaries of the film world. The festivities kick off with the opening night premiere in the historic outdoor Teatro Antico of the animated film KUNG FU PANDA, with lead actor Jack Black in attendance.  The Festival will also honor Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone and screen his director’s cut of ALEXANDER REVISITED: The Final Unrated Cut. Also being feted is Italian actress Monica Bellucci and Tunisian-born producer Tarak Ben Ammar. The Festival will also present a spotlight on films from Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. Awards will be offered to Palestinian director and actor Elia Suleiman and American film honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg.
