Written by: FFT Webmaster | December 19th, 2011

London, prepare to laugh. The BFI Southbank launches the New Year with an offering of thrills and laughter from Woody Allen, whose latest film MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is his most commercially successful and has just been nominated for a slew of Golden Globe Awards. A celebration of his classic comedies will screen throughout January, including extended runs of his mockumentary ZELIG (1983) and the multi-Oscar-winning HANNAH AND HER SISTERS (1986). Among the classic comedies to be presented in the series are such favorites as BANANAS (1971), SLEEPER (1973), LOVE AND DEATH (1975), ANNIE HALL (1977), MANHATTAN (1979), A MIDNIGHT SEX COMEDY (1982), BROADWAY DANNY ROSE (1984), THE PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO (1985), CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS (1989), HUSBANDS AND WIVES (1992), BULLETS OVER BROADWAY (1994), CELEBRITY (1998) and VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA (2008).
