Mark Boal, a journalist and Oscar winner for Best Original Screenplay for the Afghanistan War drama THE HURT LOCKER, will be honored by the PenFed Foundation at an awards gala on May 19 in Washington DC. Boal will be honored at the seventh annual Night Of Heroes Gala.  The PenFed Foundation is a nonprofit organization working to meet the unmet needs of military personnel and their families through supporting wounded soldiers, providing financial management assistance and home ownership aid. He is currently producing a film about the hunt for Osama bin Laden, which promises to tear the lid off of the various theories of complicity and collusion that kept him a fugitive for almost 10 years (in plain sight of a Pakistani military academy).
