KANSAS INTERNATIONAL
FILM FESTIVAL
Kansas City, Kansas – USA
September 30 to October 8, 2011

The 11th Annual KANSAS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (KIFF) is primed once again to present an eclectic mix of independent films to an audience of the Heartland’s most devoted film enthusiasts. KIFF places special emphasis on socially-conscious documentary films, and also showcases narrative films from around the world. A program of animated shorts has been added for 2011.

Named by Moviemaker Magazine as one of “25 film festivals worth the entry fee,” KIFF is famous for its warm Midwestern hospitality, as well as the numerous opportunities to interact with appreciative audiences and likeminded indie filmmakers. KIFF provides filmmakers with extensive lists of media contacts and niche market opportunities geared toward promoting films to a robust local audience that are known to regularly sell out screenings.

KIFF hosts approximately 25 to 30 filmmakers each year in Kansas City, and offers $300 toward airfare, complimentary hotel accommodations, free festival passes, and VIP access to parties. Audience winners in the narrative and documentary categories receive a minimum one-week theatrical run at the local Fine Arts Theatre Group theatre. KIFF also awards a jury prize for Best Documentary and Best Narrative.
