Tumbleweed Film Festival
Written by: FFT Webmaster | January 4th, 2011
Located in ruggedly beautiful eastern Washington State, the Tumbleweed Film Festival (TwFF) offers nights of fine wines and films. Each year, TwFF presents unique films from around the world, from documentaries and animations to fictional narratives. And Tumbleweed’s venues are just as unique as their films. Audiences may watch films under the stars, or besides a winery’s oak barrels, or in a brewery turned theater for a night, while sampling locally made wines and beers. Tumbleweed accepts both short and feature films. Every film matters at TwFF, so all filmmakers receive reviews of their films, whether their films are accepted or not. Filmmakers receive ,cash prizes for the audience awards, which include favorite short film and favorite feature film. Filmmakers may also qualify to have their films showcased at other venues throughout Washington and British Columbia at Tumbleweed’s “Best of Fest” events, which showcase the highest rated films from TwFF’s annual festival. TwFF offers filmmakers a wonderful opportunity to get off the beaten path and reach out to audiences in smaller communities. “Watch Globally, Drink Locally” at Tumbleweed this year. Please check Tumbleweed’s website for more details on submitting films, upcoming schedules or attending the annual festival or “Best of Fest” events at www.tumbleweedfilmfest.com.
