About Dominican Film Festival:

MISSION
The Dominican Film Festival in New York’s (DFFNY) mission is to promote the new generation of Dominican filmmakers as well as the established one, its film industry and to strengthen the vital and expanding economic and cultural relationship with the United States. We also aim to keep New York City audiences informed about the Dominican Cinema and its relation to the history, politics and social life of this country, as treated by the film makers, through the subjects and aesthetic approach they focus on.  This showcase will enrich the artistic experience of the city’s diverse population which includes a large constellation of Latinos with roots and links to 21 countries.

 

OBJECTIVE
• To showcase a carefully selection of Dominican Cinema
• To help define a more compelling film for the New York City audiences.
• To promote films that enrich the artistic and thematic spectrum of Dominican’s life.
• To present International, U.S. and New York City film Premiere.
• To provide screenings for the general public.
• To invite Filmmakers, Producers and Actors to introduce their films.
• To allow our community to enjoy a fabulous entertainment and cultural event.
