HBO MAX

HBO MAX is challenging Netflix’s supremacy.

HBO Max has so much content on its new streaming service it would be an endless list of shows, series, films, family programming, documentaries, music and comedy specials to catalogue here. It’s kind of fun to browse through the list of HBO Max content and find new and classic titles to watch. “HBO Max has that?” “Oh, I love that movie!” “Oooh, I want to see this one!”

HBO Max is rivaling Netflix in massive content and tops Amazon Prime, Hulu and Apple TV as a premier streaming channel. It’s basically the streaming version of HBO — series, documentaries, movies, specials. The HBO Max Hubs is a bookmark to your favorite channels — including DC, Sesame Workshop, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes.

The following is a list of just some of the great content features on HBO Max that caught my attention —

Max Originals

Expecting Amy, Love Life, Doom Patrol, Legendary, On The Record, The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo, Looney Toones Cartoons

HBO

Friends, South Park (all 23 seasons!), The Sopranos, Game Of Thrones, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Westworld, Watchmen, Real Time With Bill Maher

Celebrating Black Voices

Harriet, The Hate U Give, Insecure, Being Serena, Ray, What’s My Name – Muhammad Ali, Native Son, Precious, Shaft, Betty, Confirmation

DC Channel (practically every DC Comics movie ever made!)

Joker, DCU films (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam!, Justice League, Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad), Superman & Batman (movies + animated)

Movie Franchises

Alien Quadrilogy, Blade Trilogy, 3 Die Hard movies, the Complete Harry Potter, 8 Godzillas, 6 Nightmare On Elm Streets, 19 Clint Eastwood movies (I’m a fan) and the Dirty Harry Collection, 5 Home Alone movies (there are five of them???)

Featured Movies

Ad Astra, Doctor Sleep (3-hour Director’s Cut), Ford v Ferrari, Downton Abbey, Vegas Vacation (my son is in it!)

I have quite a few streaming channels to choose from during my pandemic lockdown and my go-to for massive content is right here, at HBO Max. Definitely worth the price of admission (and monthly subscription) to the Streaming Home Box Office. To the Max.

HBO Max is either “free” if you have the proper streaming providers or is available for $14.99/month plus applicable taxes (after free 7-day trial for new subscribers) at HBOMax.com. HBO Max is available from many providers and prices may vary. Most providers offer a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. After your free trial ends (new subscribers only), your subscription will auto-renew each month until you cancel your subscription. You can cancel anytime.

While Netflix has a lot to offer, I’ve gone through so many Turkish and Brazilian series that returning to HBO’s “curated” content is a pleasure, since I am continuing to self-isolate to the end of 2020.
