Woody Allen Film To Pass $100 Million Mark

Written by: FFT Webmaster | July 25th, 2011

MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, the latest film from prolific director Woody Allen, is on the cusp of crossing the $100 million mark in worldwide grosses, making it the biggest hit in the Woodman’s 40+ year film career. So far, since its opening in late May following its stint at the Cannes Film Festival, the film has grossed over $80 million at the international box office, and is still in wide release in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. It is inevitable that the film will cross the $100 million mark within the next few weeks, more than doubling the gross of his previous career high, 1986’s HANNAH AND HER SISTERS (which ended up shy of $50 million)…..pretty impressive for a 73 year old filmmaker who has more than his share of box office bombs over the years. Allen is currently in Rome where he is shooting his newest feature, to star Italian actor and unlikely Oscar winner, Roberto Beningni. Look for that film to be released next Spring.
